LIWONPAD ACTIVITIES FROM 2012-2015
LIWONPAD has had three annual Conventions and three conferances including one fundraising program after its establishment in April 2012.
Her first conference was during the establishment in Kristiansand April 28, 2012, when her officials were elected into office. The second conference after the establishment was held in Trondheim in November 2012 at which time the first amendment of the drafted constitution was done.
LIWONPAD first annual convention after her establishement was held in Harstad in April 2013, at which time a project proposal on supporting rape victims in Liberia was developed by the women. The third conference which was LIWONPAD first official fundraising program was held in 2013 in Trondheim.
The second convention was held in Kristiansand in April 2014 at which time LIWONPAD had a re/election of new officials. This election was headed by an election commission which consisted of three men; the head of the election commision Mr. Edward Jada Coordinator for Baterriet organization, Mr. Phillip Weah- President of LAASN in Kristiansand and Pastor Luwis Griggs from Kristiansand). A fourth conference was to have been held in December 2014, but due to the women occupation with the Ebola project to help in irradicating Ebola from Liberia, it was postponed.
LIWONPAD third and more special annual convention was held in Sandvika/ Bærum April 28, 2015. It was special in that all most all the women were unified in lappers with the same print.
One of LIWONPAD's most important events were the all Liberians network meeting and the Ebola awareness project.
LIWONPAD in collaboration with the Ad-hoc committee organized an Ebola awarness and support project in order to help fight against Ebola in Liberia. A 40ft container with hospital beds, matrasses, wheel chairs, and dispensable materials was sent to Liberia and distibuted to clinics that were in need of these things to help Ebola patients.
An all Liberian network meeting was held in Trondheim city on February 27-28, 2015. This network meeting was an opportunity for Liberians living in Norway to meet and dicuss how they can buld a networking system among Liberians in Norway.
LIWONPAD is presently undertaking a project to give awareness to people from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea who live n Norway. The LIWONPAD Ebola team has already hosted awarness meetings in Trondheim, Bergen and Sandvika. The remaining Municipalities to host the awareness in will be Stavanger, Kristiansand and Tromsø.
